I didn't have high hopes for a compressed mattress bought on Amazon, but I was pleasantly surprised. It arrived late morning which was great, because we needed to use it that night so I was glad that we could give it time to puff up. Again, I didn't have high hopes that it would reach its full 8 inch thickness on day 1, and whatever thickness it reached, we were going to sleep on it anyway.As soon as we unpacked it, it started to puff up. Within about an hour it was already at 6 inches, and by the evening it was around 7 inches. When we measured it the next day, it was at 8 inches.It filled out beautifully and evenly, throughout, as soon as it was unpacked. It was perfectly straight, the corners were perfect too. We slept on it on the floor for a few nights till the bed base arrived and it was great.The mattress is really awesome. It has the memory-foam to it but I do wish it was softer. This is quite a firm mattress, so if you like a more plush feel, look for another one. I can't minus a star for that because the description does say it's quite firm, but I am between 4 and 5 stars. BUT, in saying that, to counter the firmness, I did buy a mattress topper - the TEXARTIST (the more expensive one, as that is their newer model) and I highly recommend you do the same just for more luxury. It made a great difference! So even if you're like me and you like a more plush bed, you'll be happy with this mattress with the addition of a mattress topper.You can barely feel your partner next to you when they move or get up, and its light enough to lift when you're making the bed.All-in-all, this is a great mattress and I highly recommend it!
