This chapter of Elora and Brannick’s story was very fast paced and had a lot of twists and turns. There was so much intrigue and a lot of fighting. As a reader, you find yourself routing for Elora to figure out her magic and save Brannick and Faerie, but she seems to have a lot of trouble doing that. It was very interesting to see how things progress with the small, tight knit crew of those who are trying depose Queen Alessandra. Without Brannick who is a hostage, Elora is left with her two younger, mortal sisters Chloe and Grace, and from the court, Vesper, Lyren and Quintus. But Elora does have some help from a source who are working behind the scenes to defeat Queen Alessandra, Severin and Tindra. What I really enjoyed about this story was the fact that the Elora grows so much into her new role as a Fae. She really learns how to intertwin her old mortal self to her new Fae self. She is able to think out of the box that the Fae cannot seem to do. Brannick is less of the focus in this story but he is important because without him, Elora will never fully realize how to be the best person she can be.The ending blew me away, I was not expecting some of the things that happened but was thrilled that they did turn out the way that they did. This was an excellent series to read, it had depth and kept you engaged with what was happening to the host of characters. I loved that there were many full formed characters besides the few main ones and you could see how contributed to the story. This series is well worth reading. I hope to see more stories of other characters from this world.
